The use of tactile experience on top of visual language enables engaging communication and even makes it accessible for people with vision issues. Tangible Graphic Design is a multidisciplinary design approach to bring tactile experience in visual communication design with material and fabrication. Various conventional materials, such as paper, wood, fabric, plastic, and clay, can be used to enable tactile communication with fabrication methods, such as 3D printing and digital fabrication. This panel will discuss and suggest future graphic design research and educational approaches using tactile communication.
